{Outfit Post} CHIFFONxDENIM

Loving my pastel blue long sleeved top to bits because it's cooling and classy. I paired it with leather black origami skirt for a more formal event but here's how I style it to give off a more casual vibe

Shades - Bangkok
Top - Bangkok
Shredded Denim Jeans - SuperGurl
Bag - Bangkok

Details photo.

HAHA I made my maid take my ootd shots for me it's so freaking funny how she'll say ok change pose! Ok change pose! HAHAH. We'll take like 10 shots then only like the non-candid ones cause I am so bad at trying to act like a model HAHA.

So many worrying things happening next week! :( On Monday, I have a DANCE AUDITION omg... I think I like to dance HAHA but I look so horrible moving my limbs in an uncoordinated way. I think I'll flunk audition. But since I am going with a friend, I shall just give it a try...? MAYBE MAYBE I have inner dancing skills HAHAH ok maybe not... I am also stressing out about my work since I am still in my chill mode while my teachers are already piling up our work... I even started to research about holiday destinations?!? What am I doing right HAHA

Idc, I am just going to live life as it comes.

{Cafe Culture} LOLA'S CAFE

I can't believe I am writing about Lola's only now because I have been there 5 times altogether now and loving every single time I am there. The food is one of the best I have ever eaten and so economical too!!

This time, I went with a senior of mine Natasha. Natasha studies in London (IMPERIAL OMG SMARTASS) and sheMs back for her holiday so I decided to meet her!! She was such a great help during my A levels because I would keep messaging her on FB and tell her how unmotivated I was, and she would keep encouraging me. Awwww :)

Natasha had an Avocado Eggs Benedict ($15)  and I had my favourtie Honey Paprika Wings ($10). We got 2 desserts as well, Sea Salt Chocolate Tart ($5) and Panna Cotta ($7)

I loved the food. The wings had such a great combination of sweet and spice. Sadly, I ate breakfast before coming so I couldn't finish all my wings. I have tried the Avocado Eggs Ben before but I wasn't a big fan of Avocado, so I won't go for it a second time. But the Benedict's were nicely done and the hollandaise sauce was packed with flavour. Thumbs up! My top choice would very much be the Full Monty Breakfast ($15). I tried it before and the portion was very generous. I especially loved the bacon that was sweet and the bratwurst which was slight burnt to give a good BBQ like taste.

On a whole, I love this cafe and this easily goes into my top few cafe choices. You'll love it there too!

{Cafe Culture} WHEELER'S YARD

(Shit, just Realised this failed to post)

If you go to Wheeler's Yard and don't take a photo in front of this iconic blue gate, then... ok nvm your life still goes on.

My mid week went very well! Started the day with a lunch at Toa Payoh Hawker Centre and ordered this yummy looking, sinful but so so flavorful laksa hehe

Went to teach tuition then off to see my girlfriends!! I shall name them because I hope they will feel this tingling happy sensation when they see their names here haha. Hi GENEVIEVE (no typo this time)!! Hi SAMANTHA LOW SHU EN! Happy right, Sam? Haha. Lastly, hi TAEYONG BB <3

So I reached 30mins earlier but all of them were late so lol, I waited for 1 hour?!?!? Haha but it's okay. I was so amazed by the interior and exterior of the whole cafe, I got preoccupied by snapping photos of the place. This is by far, the biggest cafe I know of. Plenty of seats in the non-airconditioned and airconditioned area.

Bicycles on the table - only at wheeler's yard.

The dishes on the menu were pretty pricey, ranging from $17.90 to $23 for a main course.

So while waiting for the latecomers, I chose what I want to eat very carefully hehe. Taeyong was the first to arrive, so we got our desserts while waiting for the rest. The desserts were $6 each! I got an apple crumble and Tae got a Oreo cheesecake. Cheesecake wins. The apple crumble was so so. Not much flavour in it.

So when the rest of the girls finally arrived, we went out to spam photos in front of the blue gate HAHA we were damn retarded. Acting hipster. I'll only upload the glam photos because... my blog.

So we finallyyyy went to order. Gen got Prawn Aglio Olio and Samantha got Shrooms Aglio Olio. I can't believe she paid $18 for carbo and MUSHROOM. Charis and I shared a Grilled Chicken because we had desserts beforehand.

I know how all the reviews of the food at Wheeler's Yard are damn bad. But I think the food is ok?! Hahah gen and sam didn't like their pasta that much, but Tae and I enjoyed our chicken. It's not VERY good. I definitely ate better grilled chicken but the portion was big, and tasted alright.

So yup! That's all! I definitely recommend y'all to come because even if the food isn't fantastic, the atmosphere is so amazing. We chatted so long and never felt pressurized to leave because there were so many seats around! Go snap a photo in the cafe also! Hehe hipster much.

I LOVE FIFTY THINGS

Very obviously, I don't just love 50 things in this world but I am going to list 50 things that I love out of all the many things I like.

1. God. Hehe I always think that I am blessed because I am loved by God and I thank Him for all the gifts, tribulations and surprises. I am still learning to trust in his perfect plan and still growing to love him more.

2. Family. I only seem to understand how precious my family is when I meet obstacles in my life. No matter how tough my day was, as long as I reached home, I felt taken care of and sheltered.

3. Friends. Samantha you happen to be the first name that popped in my brain since last night was a cray cray one with you at Zouk!! Yes, my IJ bbs are my best friends and I really love how we will try our very best to arrange meetups and catch up even if we are all very busy. Charis, Gen, Su, Ally <3 then I have my climbing girlfriends who add such a kick into my life. I will never forget our expedition to explore Hong Kong and stupid things we did together. There are just so many more people I hold close to my heart, the list will go on forever...

4. Small animals. Dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters AWWWWW

5. Kpop. Hehe I get how some people think kpop is damn lame but I DONT CARE!! **cues music** I love kpop, I love kdramas, kpop idols, k k k to the end man.

6. Traveling. Please please bring me on a holiday. I lor exploring places and immersing myself into different cultures. I love experiencing new stuff in complete new places.

7. Roller coasters. WEEEE I'm not afraid of you!!

8. Fashion. I only started to really get into the whole fashion thing last year after realizing that creating new outfits is quite therapeutic for me.

9. Cafe hopping. It's like the whole Young generation is falling in love with visiting new cafes and I am definitely loving trying out brunch menus from different places.

10. Sports. I don't like to run. I would run if I was asked to, but rarely if there isn't anyone to run with me. I prefer other sports activities like rock climbing, badminton, basketball, etc.

11. Shopping. Hehehhe NOT A SHOPAHOLIC. I don't WASTE my money on shopping. I only invest in the clothes that I see a future with and I often try to sell away the clothes I know I won't wear again because I don't really like to wear the same stuff all the time. I get very excited when my favourite street style shops like H&M changes their collection with the change in seasons.

12. Arcade Games. Yah this one I admit is a waste of money. But I am happy playing, so I go to arcade centers once in a while.

13. Clubbing. I don't get why people are prejudiced against clubbers. CLUBVING is about dancing to music and just meeting new people. It's no harm unless you drink yourself crazy and can't take care of yourself. I think clubbing is the highlight of Singapore's nightlife.

14. Sitting on long bus rides/train rides with a really good friend. You know how hard it is to talk to someone close now? Everyone's so addicted to their cellphone... I always set a ground rule for myself that I must not use my hand phone (unless it's an emergency) when I go out with people. It's a form of respect to concentrate on the person in front of you, and I really appreciate people who do the same. Sitting on long rides together, we can talk endlessly about what's going on in our lives... Ahhhh....

15. Kimchi. Kimchi everything. Kimchi soup, kimchi fried rice BUT NOT COLD KIMCHI. Like no kimchi kimbap, unless it's hot. You know the kimchi side dish that comes with the main course? I always throw it into the soup or somewhere hot, so it'll warm up and I can eat it hehehe. I think Kimchi is quite healthy?? IF ITS NOT, DONT TELL ME BC I LOVE IT.

16. Apple products. Such an Apple Fan. I love how sleek the products look and user friendly the interface is! I see Apple as the mother of smartphones and I don't think I'll ever switch.

17. Watching Movies. The only genre of movies I don't enjoy is those Avengers Kind. What superman, Spider-Man, iron man... No no. I don't like it. I very much would prefer to watch comedy or horror.

18. Earrings. If there's one accessory that makes your whole look change, I would say it's the earrings. No matter small or big, they add such a touch of feminity. Obviously I am not talking about those black studs that tomboys will wear or those circular loops. A pair of gold round earrings is my go-to accessory.

19. Mixing with new friends. I like going to try new things because you get to meet new people. I find it very fun to interact with people and make new friends.

20. Baby Blue.

21. A good pampering session at the hair salon.

22. Well dressed guys. Sigh... My weakest point. I think it doesn't matter so much if the guy is really handsome but it's a total turn off if they can't dress according to the event they are going for. It doesn't hurt to wear a Khaki Pants and a well fitted shirt instead of running shorts and T shirt what... but I guess there are guys who really don't care about how they look. And it's quite cool sometimes because they seem not so appearance oriented... But generally, better dressed guys give off a better vibe.

23. BANGKOK. My favourtie shopping paradise. Need I say more???

24. Desserts. Waffles w syrup w ice cream OMG GIMME MORE. Chocolate tart, créme brûlée, cakes YESSS

25. Cuddling beside my mother to sleep. I am such a childish kid who won't grow up. When I am at home, I'll most probably be found lying beside my mother every night, watching her play candy crush and then sleep beside her until my father chases me away.

26. Good Sunday Lunch with my Family.

27. Gentlemens. They take care of you without taking advantage of you, they respect you and make you feel good. What's not to love!!

28. Familiarity. I don't like things to stay completely the same, but I hate things to be completely different as well. I like to experience new things with a touch of familiarity. I think this is quite hard to understand, but if you ask me personally, I'll probably explain it better...

29. Charis my Taeyong. I know how number 3 is already "Friends" and she is already included. But Charis is like in my highest tier of friends so I give you a special place in this list haha. Thank you for always loving me and bringing so much laughter into my life. You make me feel good about myself and I am so blessed that we have so much in common. I always enjoy your company and I used to be scared that I wasn't your number 1 anymore, but now, I am equally happy being one of your best friends :)

30. Sam Marie Low. So much love for you. You're one of the most selfless person I know, and thank you for being such a cool sport. Every time I think of something adventurous to do, I always make it a point to ask you because you always seem to eager to try out all these with me. I care so much about you because you never show me all your fragility and I think the more you hide from me, the more I am concerned about you. I read your blog all the time because it shows me how you really feel inside. I am sorry you had to battle with self esteem problems. How you had to face problems alone. But you have to remember that no matter what anyone says, no matter what happened in the past, happening in the present or happens in the future, to me, you're still Sam. You're still the girl who wrote in my sec 4 diary how you were using a strawberry pen to write and reminded me to smell it. You're still the one I can sit in total silence with and still feel comfortable. You're amazing to me at the very least xx

31. Junior College. Did I just write that omg... But yeah I really enjoyed it. I enjoyed joining rock climbing and meeting all my friends whom I am still very attached to now. I enjoy tutorials and it was only in JC, did I start to participate in class so actively. I felt comfortable among every single person in my class and so, I dared to be myself. I thank Jolyn and Marisa for battling the As with me. My teachers who helped me a great deal etc. I love my school and glad I ended JC on a good note.

32. Jolyn. Hehe you'll prolly never see this. But thank you. I think I don't tell you very often how much you mean to me. Ever since studying together last year, I think we have been through a lot. You're kind and thoughtful, and even now in uni, I always want to make it a point to stay close to you. All the best for marketing and kick its ass.

33. 100% charged electronics
I feel so secure going out with a 100% charged iPhone.

34. Windy days

35. Feeling treasured
Like how Bucky ( my neighbor's dog) makes me feel. He runs to the fate every time he sees me and watches me till I cross the road safely then turn away.

36. Good hair day. Haha who am I kidding. I have good hair days everyday.

37. Staring into people's eyes. Creepy but so therapeutic.

38. Watching good triumph over evil kinda shows.

39. Walking in good weather

40. National Day. Always feel more patriotic and ports to be a Singaporean on the 9th Of August.

41. Christmas!!! My second Favourite time of the year.

42. Chinese New Year. My number one Favourite time of the year.

43. Haunted houses.

44. Friendly people

45. Tumblr kinda cool pictures

46. Big houses.

47. Finding someone whom I can click with at new places

48. Getting good grades. Oh what a slave I am to this education system.

49. Small watches

50. Earning a lot of money

YES OMG I AM FINALLY DONE. This took really long and I am glad it's over HAHAHAH

Love,
Xin Hui
